Add a partner to the stakeholder directory
Create a partner relationship with the correct organisation and primary contact, without starting onboarding or granting access.
Before you start: Have the partner’s correct company name, contact name and email, and the agreed tier and revenue-share value where applicable. Do not infer commercial terms from the form defaults.
Steps
1. Open People → Governance → Stakeholders → Directory. Review the Type, Status and KYC filters so they do not hide an existing record.
2. Search the organisation and contact email. Open likely matches and compare the full identity. If the correct partner already exists, skip steps 3–5 and check it in step 6; resolve conflicting records before creating another.
3. Select Add Stakeholder and choose Stakeholder Type → Partner. Confirm that you are using the organisation relationship form, not Contractor or Other.
4. Enter Company Name, Primary Contact Name and Primary Contact Email. Select the intended Tier and enter the agreed Revenue Share % where applicable. Check the contact address carefully and do not let the default Bronze tier substitute for a business decision.
5. Review the complete record and select Create once. Return to Directory and search the original organisation and email before retrying an uncertain response.
6. Open the saved partner and compare its retained organisation, contact and commercial metadata. Read status and KYC labels separately, then select Cancel after an unchanged inspection.
7. Arrange any onboarding, document review, access or payment work through the separate responsible process. The directory record gives you an identifiable relationship; it does not send an invitation or establish a completed review.
Expected result
The partner has one directory record with the intended company and contact details, ready for the appropriate relationship workflow.
Common pitfalls
- A partner, contractor and employee are different record types. Choose the one that reflects the actual relationship.
- Starting stakeholder onboarding can lead to communication. Review its recipient and configuration before using Start Onboarding.
- A KYC label is not a blanket compliance conclusion. Review the actual required documents and decisions for the relationship.
