Check putaway from the dock to storage
Match the receipt-linked putaway task and reconcile both locations before treating the stock as stored.

Check putaway from the dock to storage
Putaway relocates accepted stock from receiving to storage. It is not another receipt, and a task listed under Putaway may already be completed.
Match the putaway task
1. Open Inventory → Receiving and find the exact receipt. Check its source, warehouse, item, unit and accepted quantity. 2. Select Putaway tasks on that receipt. Confirm the panel refers to the same receipt. 3. Match the task reference, item, quantity, source dock and destination location. Read lot/serial and operator values only where supplied; do not invent them from a blank cell. 4. Scroll horizontally if needed to read the task’s own Status. Do not rerun a completed task or assume the Putaway tab means it is outstanding.

Check the result
Check both sides of the move
5. Open the exact item’s Movements. Match the putaway reference on the negative source-location row and positive destination-location row. 6. Check Stock for the same item, warehouse and both locations. A move of one unit from dock to bin should be assessed as a relocation of that unit, not an additional warehouse receipt. 7. Compare the separate reservation and quality records before interpreting Available. Held or quarantined stock and allocated stock have their own restrictions. 8. If quantities, locations or status disagree, retain the exact references and ask the Inventory owner to resolve the movement. Do not adjust balances or replay the receipt to make the screens agree.
Expected result: the accepted quantity is traceable from the receipt through the putaway task to the destination balance, or the unresolved step is identified.
Before new putaway work: use the supported current task/action for the eligible receipt and actual destination. If no creation or completion control is available in your view, ask for the correct workflow rather than reusing a completed task. Physical handling and checking saved records are separate checks.
