Give CoBrain the right context and a specific request before asking for an answer.

Choose sources and write a clear CoBrain prompt

A clear prompt says what you need, which facts to use and how the answer should look. Choosing the right source is just as important as choosing the words.

Choose the context

1. Open CoBrain → Ask. Use New conversation when you want a separate conversation for this task.

2. Check any attached current-page context. If it is not relevant, remove that attachment with its X. This removes the conversation context, not the underlying record.

3. Open Choose answer sources below Message CoBrain and choose the source that fits:

  • General: Answer without workroom data. Useful when you supply all the facts for a writing task.
  • Workroom: Search records you can access. Useful for questions that need workroom information.
  • Current page: Use the attached page. Check that the exact page you intended is actually attached.

Write and send the request

4. Include the purpose, audience, source facts, output format and any important limits. For example:

Using only these facts, draft three bullets for an internal update: the agenda is ready; the checklist needs one review; the deadline is Friday. Do not invent an owner or say the review is finished.

Replace these facts with your own accurate information. Use a full date when a relative word such as Friday could be misunderstood.

5. Select Send message once and wait for the response. Read the answer against the facts you supplied.

For a record question, be equally specific: ask for the status and due date of the exact attached task, rather than asking whether a project is “fine.”

You should have an answer to a clearly scoped request. A broad source choice does not guarantee complete information, and changing the attached page does not retroactively change an earlier answer.

Only include information needed for the task; keep credentials and unnecessary personal details out of the prompt.
