Check a request’s evidence, make the appropriate stage decision and confirm what changed.

Review and approve the right request

Before you start: You must be the appropriate reviewer for this request and stage. Follow your organisation’s rules, including any spending limits or restrictions on reviewing your own request.

Read before deciding

1. Open Pulse → Approvals and choose the relevant category. Match the exact request reference with the request or source record you intend to review.

2. Read the purpose, dates, amounts and supporting material. Check the actual document contents rather than assuming a receipt is correct from its filename.

3. Decide whether the evidence meets the criteria for this stage. If information is missing, resolve that question through your organisation’s process before approving.

Make the stage decision

4. When the request is ready and approval is your decision to make, select Approve once. A decision can take effect immediately without a separate confirmation dialog.

Use Reject only when rejection is the correct outcome under your process. Rejection, cancellation and asking for clarification are not interchangeable.

5. Wait for the view to settle. Find the same request again and check its resulting stage and any decision history. Reopen the originating record when you need the fuller context.

Understand what happened

An approval may move the request to another reviewer. For example, a manager-stage approval can lead to Finance review, not directly to payment.

You should know that your decision was applied to the intended request and what happens next. Do not describe the whole business process as complete merely because your stage is finished.

If the page times out: Check the same request before clicking Approve again. A missing confirmation does not prove that the first decision failed.
