Find your way around Inbox
Recognise the mailbox, message and conversation you are working with before replying.
Before you start: Use a workroom and mailbox you are allowed to read. If no account is connected, arrange that setup with your administrator first.
Understand what you are opening
An account is the email identity used to connect and send. A mailbox holds the mail associated with an address or account. The selected workroom is the Workroomly context around that mail.
A message has its own sender, recipients, subject and body. A conversation thread can contain an original request, replies and corrections. Read enough of the conversation to understand the current request, not just the latest preview.
Steps
- Open Inbox → Mail and read the selected mailbox scope. Unified is a view label; check the actual message header to confirm which account and people are involved.
- Locate Search emails. Enter a distinctive subject or phrase from a message you know, then press Enter.
- Open the matching result. Compare the full subject, sender, recipients and date before reading the body.
- Read any related replies or corrections available in the conversation. Identify what is being requested now and whether a response is needed.
- Use the left navigation to recognise Drafts, Sent, Starred, Needs Reply, Archive and Trash. They serve different purposes: Drafts is unsent work, while Sent is where you check an outgoing item.
Expected result
You can name the mailbox and exact conversation, explain the current request and choose the right place to continue.
Remember
Opening a message can change its unread state. Folder counts and stars help you find mail; they do not prove that work is finished or that a recipient read a message.
Turn what you learned into the way the team works.
Mark this lesson complete once the workflow exists in your workspace—not simply when you reach the bottom.
